Abraham Lincoln Elementary Comprehensive School Safety Plan

At Lincoln Elementary, the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. Each year, we update and review our Comprehensive School Safety Plan (CSSP) to make sure our campus is safe, welcoming, and supportive for all students.

What the Safety Plan Covers:

  • Emergency preparedness with regular drills (fire, earthquake, lockdown, evacuation, etc.)

  • Procedures for child abuse reporting

  • Bullying prevention and anti-discrimination policies

  • Clear discipline guidelines and restorative practices

  • Safe arrival and dismissal procedures, with visitor check-in through the RAPTOR system

  • Mandated staff training on student safety, mental health, and emergency response

Our Vision for Safety:
We believe every child deserves to feel safe—physically, emotionally, and socially—so they can focus on learning. The CSSP addresses prevention, early intervention, and response strategies to ensure that students are supported both inside and outside the classroom.

Community and District Partnerships:
The plan is created with input from parents, staff, law enforcement, and first responders. Lincoln also works closely with the Paramount Unified School District Safety and Security Department to improve our preparedness through drills, supplies, and training.

Student Support:

  • Positive Behavior Support and restorative practices to encourage responsible choices

  • Interventions for attendance concerns through the School Attendance Review Team (SART) and District-level SARB if needed

  • Access to a school counselor and social worker for student mental health and crisis support

  • Progressive discipline strategies such as peer mediation, reflective assignments, and check-in/check-out systems

Transparency and Access:

  • The CSSP is updated annually by March 1

  • A summary of the plan is included in our school’s accountability report card

  • A full copy is available in the school office for parent review
